HIM CODING COMPLIANCE AUDITOR - (CERTIFIED)
REMOTE - OPPORTUNITY CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
FULLTIME SHIFT 8:00AM-5:30PM
** CERTIFICATIONS : CCS required. CPC can be substituted for the outpatient auditor. RHIT, RHIA preferred. **
JOB SUMMARY : Reviews medical records for coding accuracy (I10 and CPT) and DRG (CMS or APR) assignment. Develops and provides a structured reporting and education process for HIM coders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reviews inpatient and outpatient medical records for coding accuracy.
Educates HIM Coding Staff on coding conventions, chart review techniques, and idiosyncrasies of DRGs (CMS and APR), CPT, and ICD10.
Reports results of coding audits to HIM Management.
Demonstrates professional responsibility and fosters teamwork.
Continually looks to improve work performed by self and improve processes both internal and external.
Ensures that emails, queries, audits, and reports are completed timely.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications/Requirements: Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Experience: 7+ years.
CERTIFICATIONS:
CCS required. CPC can be substituted for the outpatient auditor. RHIT, RHIA preferred.
