The Development Offices at Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) and Salem Hospital (SH) seek an experienced, strategic, pro-active, results-oriented professional to serve as Senior Prospect Research Analyst. This role will report to the Managing Director, Philanthropy Operations and collaborate with development teams at each hospital to build a robust prospect research and management system to identify prospective donors, conduct prospect research screenings, develop profiles and provide reports to support fundraising efforts.

Regular responsibilities include:

Identify individual, corporate and foundation prospects based on analysis of wealth indicators, philanthropy, interests, engagement and connections to the organizations.

Conduct wealth screenings, analysis, and verification of data. Analyze, interpret, and summarize data from a wide range of sources to determine potential gift capacity.

Drive proactive research processes such as regular patient prospect reports, daily rounding reports and physician panels.

Compose research profiles for individuals, including trustee bios, event bios, and prospect profiles that are carefully proofread and edited for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.

Review event registration reports and create confidential event briefings for hospital and volunteer leadership.

Create, implement, and monitor a system for continuous prospect updates, wealth screens and recruitment of new donors and volunteer leaders.

Support prospect and portfolio strategy meetings. Work with staff to develop and implement strategies for prospect management.

Review, segment, and analyze donor and prospect data and synthesize information to provide suggestions and recommendations, especially for enhancing portfolios and identification pools.

Assist with moves management activities and progress; and working with development officers to ensure the recording of all pertinent data in the Blackbaud CRM system.

Maintain accurate prospect records and update information including capacity ratings, wealth information, comprehensive bios and condensed event bios. Ensure accurate record keeping in the Blackbaud CRM database.

Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Uphold the ethical and confidentiality guidelines of Mass General Brigham, HIPAA and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).

Stay abreast of best practices and benchmarking in fundraising and prospect research fields.

Assist in the development and implementation of research policies and procedures.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree and minimum five years of experience in fundraising prospect research and data analysis, preferably using Blackbaud products. Experience in healthcare fundraising preferred.

Job Knowledge/Skills Criteria/Standards:

High proficiency in use and administration of Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge, or NXT and the leading prospect research application and tools, such as LexisNexis, etc. Experience designing complex queries and exports, analyzing data and principles of data integrity.

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects in a complex environment in accordance with departmental procedures and priorities.

Ability to evaluate user needs, requests, and problems and display sound judgment in designing solutions.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated training skills to ensure proper use of the systems and reinforce protocols for consistent coding and data integrity.
