OverviewHuman Longevity, Inc. (HLI) has developed a prototype platform for genomics and imaging-based, technology-driven medicine which is offered through Human Longevity clinic sites in San Diego and San Francisco with additional sites to follow. The Nucleus Medical Group provides physician and clinical support and specialized physician and other health professional support for Human Longevity clients, including data collection, interpretative services, longitudinal care (using proprietary medical care modules), and monitoring using baseline data and HLI information tools.Job PurposeHuman Longevity is seeking an inspired, intellectually curious, and mission-driven

Genetic Counselor

to be an integral part of the longevity precision medicine care team. This individual will provide domain expertise in genetic counseling for whole genome sequencing. As part of the multidisciplinary team, this individual will also provide empathic, personalized care to clients throughout their experience – including a warm welcome, supportive clinical care for the duration of the evaluation, and ensure an unparalleled care experience.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Medical Director, disclose genomic results to clients and provide genetic counseling including education, a comprehensive risk assessment, and psychological support.Daily interactions with physicians and clients to provide pre and/or post-test genetic counseling for all client types across specialties.Assist with coordination and communication of client genomic information among the care team.Contribute to the variant curation, clinical genomic report writing, and reviewing.Assist with the development of educational applications and tools.Help facilitate appropriate referrals and any additional genetic tests.Work collaboratively with the care team to determine next steps based on genomic results.Maintain positive work relationships with other technologists, practitioners, physicians, and staff.Contribute to phenotype data collection, follow-up with clients, safety monitoring, and adherence to IRB protocols.Minimum Qualifications (Must Have)Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program, or graduate degree in a related field.Experience working directly with patients and physicians.Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Board of Medical Genetics.Must hold current Genetic Counselor License in the state of California.Experience in Oncology, Cardiac, and/or behavioral sciences genetics specialties preferred.Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential and following HIPAA practices.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience providing genetic counseling for patients/research participants undergoing whole-genome sequencing.3+ years experience in genetic counseling post completion of Master’s Degree.Experience in a start-up environment.Ability to analyze and incorporate research literature in return of genetic results.Experience in variant curation.Excellent oral/written communication skills.Ability to work independently.Strong organizational and time management skills.Human Longevity, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.DISCLAIMER: The information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work.
