Job Description
AECOM Environment has a career opportunity for an Offshore Wind Energy Scientist / Permitter within our Northeast Environmental Planning & Permitting Practice. In this role you will be part of one of the largest environmental consulting offshore wind energy groups and working within a team environment with a wide range of multidisciplinary scientists, permitting specialists and subject matter experts.
Responsibilities Preparation of BOEM Site Assessment Plans (SAP) and Construction and Operations Plans (COP). Working with state and federal regulations in the northeast/mid-Atlantic Region.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS degree +8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in Biology, Marine Biology, Environmental Science/Planning or related field. 8 years of applied experience in the offshore wind energy industry conducting tasks, studies, surveys and permitting of offshore wind energy infrastructure. Due to the nature of work US citizenship is required. Valid Driver's License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications: Overall professional experience desired is 8-10 years. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Strong Familiarity with BOEM Regulations and prior experience authoring Chapters and Appendices in COPs. Background in Visual Impact Assessments (VIA), Benthic, Fisheries and/or other marine environment subject matter expertise. Experience with state and federal regulatory programs for electric transmission and generation. MS Preferred in Biology, Marine Biology, Environmental Science/Planning.
