This role is responsible for ensuring consolidated financial statements within the areas of leases and fixed assets are accurate and accounted for in accordance with IFRS and the LVMH Group accounting policies. Responsible for lease administration services, which includes maintaining the Company’s lease portfolio for all locations worldwide and serving as an authority in lease compliance. This role will lead two direct reports responsible for lease accounting and fixed asset accounting and two direct reports responsible for lease administration. This includes providing expertise and mentorship, training and development and supporting requests from various areas of the organization. Participate in departmental and company-wide projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Lease Accounting:

Supervising lease accountant’s tasks, which includes reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations for North America

Reviewing all Lease activity entered on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with IFRS16

Evaluating sophisticated lease related transactions and detailing the accounting impacts

Ensuring international markets are compliant with standard operating procedures

Fixed Assets Accounting:

Leading all aspects of fixed assets accountant’s tasks, which includes reviewing and approving journal entries, asset transfers, asset disposals, depreciation and account reconciliations for North America

Partnering with the Financial Planning and analysis team to review the capital plan and unplanned capital projects to ensure compliance with Tiffany and LVMH accounting policies

Evaluating sophisticated fixed asset transactions (such as accelerations and disposals) and detailing the accounting impacts

Assisting with the roll-out of JDE E1 to international markets by ensuring their set-up and execution of fixed assets without issues

Lease Administration:

Maintaining the Company’s lease portfolio for all locations worldwide by ensuring that all lease documents are abstracted into Lucernex in a timely manner by the lease administration team

Leading the vendor relationship, which includes determining vendor's involvement in lease abstraction and percent rent audits

Reviewing and approving all North America rent payments, which includes rent runs for percentage rent, mid-month one-time payments, and month-end reoccurring payments

Reviewing the budgeting and forecasting for Common Area Maintenance for all North America locations

Financial Statements:

Reviewing Balance Sheet (Right-of-Use Asset, Lease Liabilities, PPE) and P&L (ROU Depreciation, Fixed Asset Depreciation, Variable Rent, CAM) variations for all markets at the consolidated level

Reviewing Balance Sheet Review slides which are presented to upper management

Reviewing SyRUS flows and preparing consolidated cash flow commentary

Reviewing the CRA Reporting and Taxonomy Reporting to LVMH

Leadership:

Providing technical accounting mentorship and training where vital

Developing strong goals and objectives for the team and measure their performance accordingly

Hold weekly open items meeting to communicate priorities

Special projects and drive Continuous Improvement initiatives:

Partnering with technical accounting to ensure the lease accounting and fixed asset accounting policies and related standard operating procedures are up to date and executed globally

Ensure lease administration data from the vendor is complete and reportable

Supporting ongoing system upgrades, improvements and maintenance of financial systems and supporting initiatives as the subject matter authority

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting

8+ years of public and/or private accounting or related experience

Experience with IFRS16 Leases and IAS 16 Property, Plant and Equipment

Excellent oral, written, listening and analytical skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Demonstrated leadership and strong supervisory skills

Advanced Excel and should have strong PC skills

Must be willing to work flexible hours during monthly, quarterly and year-end closings, as well as for special assignments when requested

Ability to work with all levels of management as well as with external auditors

Preferred:

Certified Public Accountant and/or Big 4 experience

Experience in financial systems such as JD Edwards and Hyperion Financial Management

Experience in the Lucernex lease administration system

Experience in Retail
