Position Summary : We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring the timely preparation of financial statements. This role involves processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting the monthly and annual close processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, be proficient in financial reporting, and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the finance department's accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in delivering financial data. Duties and Responsibilities: Accounting Entries & Statements:
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and review of accounting entries. Prepare financial statements in accordance with the company’s established processes, controls, and accounting standards. Support all account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. Audit Support:
Assist with year-end audits for both U.S. and statutory entities by preparing and providing detailed support schedules and documentation for all relevant accounting entries. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and respond promptly to audit inquiries. Monthly Close & Work Papers:
Maintain comprehensive monthly closing work papers in a format suitable for audit review. Ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and complete. Revenue Deferrals & Fixed Assets:
Prepare and analyze journal entries related to revenue deferrals, fixed assets, and other key accounts such as accounts receivable, bad debt reserves, and other accruals as necessary. Accounting Policies & Controls:
Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations. Bank Reconciliations:
Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations to ensure proper balancing of all cash accounts. Tax Support:
Assist with the preparation of annual tax requests, including revenue and travel & entertainment (T&E) analysis, to support tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Team Support:
Collaborative role working with a team and senior leadership as well as working closely with other departments (FP&A, A/R and A/P). Desired Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred. 2–5 years’ experience in an automated accounting environment. Requires attention to detail. Ability to follow through on open items and tasks and arrive at logical conclusions. Take initiative in regular process improvements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
