Job SummaryThis opportunity will be an 18-month contract of full-time employment from date of hire inclusive of benefits.
The UCSF Program Management Office (PMO) seeks an experienced Organizational Consultant to manage a significant organizational change project for the Flexible Work project. This is 50% on-site and 50% telework.
PMO consultants leverage skills in business consulting, project management, group facilitation, change management, strategic thinking, and Lean transformation to guide campus clients toward collaboratively identified, workable solutions to achieve results.
Key Elements of the role include, but are not limited to:
Leading a high-priority, enterprise-level project involving multiple senior leaders and cross-functional teams to manage organizational change.
Facilitating groups and meetings to analyze complex business issues, generate collaborative discussion, and assist teams in consensus decisions as part of a strategic planning effort.
Independently manage the overall project and workstreams in partnership with client groups, exercising influence across multiple stakeholder groups.
Drive executive decision-making and delivery of desired project outcomes.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. The salary range for this position is $132,000 - $204,000 (Annual Rate).
Department DescriptionThe UCSF Program Management Office (PMO) is an internal business advisory unit of skilled professionals who provide consulting services to the UCSF campus. The PMO works with central leaders, the schools, and department staff to implement both campus-wide and unit-specific operational improvements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related Organizational Change, Business Administration, or related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Advanced degree preferred.
5-8 years of relevant experience and track record of providing management consulting services.
Advanced knowledge of management consulting field, theories, and models to assess, design, and implement customized, strategic organization interventions.
Advanced knowledge of the consulting process to effectively lead engagements from inception to conclusion.
Demonstrates advanced analytical, problem-solving, project planning, and implementation skills.
Advanced knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.
Demonstrates skill consulting to managers and groups at all levels.
Ability to coach, facilitate, and influence people at all levels of the client's teams.
Ability to apply change management in implementing programs.
Ability to establish and manage project governance groups.
Applies strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Some knowledge of the organizational environment of higher education and large research universities to understand client issues, motivations and constraints.
Has advanced knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle to assess, design and implement new technology systems.
