Key Job ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Research Scientist with a background in Machine Learning to help build industry-leading Speech and Language technology.As a Research Scientist at Amazon, you will work with talented peers to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to drive the state of the art in speech synthesis.Participate in the design, development, evaluation, deployment, and updating of data-driven models for Speech and Language applications.Participate in research activities including the application and evaluation of Speech and Language techniques for novel applications.Research and implement novel ML and statistical approaches to add value to the business.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONSPhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of quantitative field research experienceExperience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to business problems and productsExperience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting languageExperience with agile developmentExperience building web-based dashboards using common frameworks

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
