Responsibilities for Admissions Director:
Maintains admission guidelines by writing, updating, and recommending changes to admission criteria, policies and procedures; markets programs and facilities by preparing and providing informational brochures; writing and placing advertisements; answering questions; conducting tours; obtains applicant information by requesting completed applications and medical information; verifying and clarifying information; interviewing patients and family members; explaining admission criteria; knowledge of EPIC, Allscripts, Careport, Navi Access, and Carelon.
Resolves patient/family dissatisfactions by investigating concerns; recommending changes in service policies and procedures; prepares admissions reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments; manages facility census; attends various facilities meetings as requested, including but not limited to morning stand-up meetings, Medicare meetings, QAPI, medical staff meetings, and discharge planning meetings; manages facility admission budget on a monthly basis; maintains a working knowledge of federal and state regulations as related to the position and reimbursement (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial); additional duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements for Admissions Director:
Previous experience as an Admissions Director preferred.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or healthcare-related field, or 3 years equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
