Assistant Professor in Landscape Architecture
The Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning (LARCP) in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign) at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, is seeking qualified candidates to teach design studios and courses in the department related to socio-ecological systems as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We're specifically seeking candidates with expertise in GIS, GeoDesign, and spatial analysis.The successful candidate will:Deliver creative and effective teaching in courses related to socio-ecological systems and GIS.Engage in significant, peer-reviewed research, scholarship, and/or creative activities.Supervise independent graduate research.Participate in university and professional service.Contribute to an environment that fosters diversity and collegiality.What You’ll Need to Succeed:Master’s degree in landscape architecture or a closely allied field. Candidate must have at least one degree in landscape architecture.Evidence of ability to deliver inspired teaching.Evidence of or potential for research, scholarship, and/or creative activity with a focused agenda.Professional, pedagogical, or scholarly experience in socio-ecological systems and GIS.Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. (or ABD) in landscape architecture or closely allied field.Professional licensure.Ability to work with a wide range of student interests and academic levels.Ability to help students develop career-ready professional skills.Ability to teach studios, seminars, and lecture classes.
