We welcome applicants conducting research in any of the Division’s four core centers and programs, including Cancer Genetics and Prevention, Cancer Care Delivery and Outcomes, Community-Based Research, or Translational Informatics and Computational Biology. In addition, current or future focus on early cancer detection or prevention is of interest, although not required for consideration.

The Division of Population Sciences includes 43 interdisciplinary faculty members working as researchers and clinicians throughout Dana-Farber and other Harvard-affiliated institutions, including the Harvard T. Our group is highly collaborative and includes investigators with expertise in cancer prevention, community-based research, health equity, germline genetics and cancer predisposition, computational biology, biomarker discovery, artificial intelligence, patient-reported outcomes, large database analysis, health economics, and interventional clinical trials. In addition to investigator-initiated research funded by federal agencies and foundations, the Division hosts a T32 post-doctoral training program, Training in Oncology Population Sciences, as well as a U54 Comprehensive Partnership for Cancer Disparities Research jointly held by Dana-Farber and the University of Massachusetts Boston.

The successful candidate is expected to build an innovative research program in Population Sciences. The candidate is expected to have completed an MD and/or PhD with relevant post-doctoral training. Applicants should have demonstrated early success manifest as a strong track record of publication or receipt of peer-reviewed funding. Applicants should have completed advanced training in research methods and demonstrate motivation to harness these skills in order to decrease the burden of cancer on population health.

This dry-laboratory position will be based at the DFCI in the Division of Population Sciences. The successful candidate will build an independent research program that has synergy with investigators focused on the full spectrum of Population Sciences from across the DFCI, BWH, HMS and its affiliates. Candidates must have an MD and/or a PhD and are expected to meet the criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor at HMS. Candidates are also expected to participate in teaching through formal didactic coursework, supervision and mentorship of graduate students and postdoctoral trainees at HMS.
