Position Summary:
The General Manager (GM) must be a strong leader and team builder who has great business judgment and critical thinking skills with the aptitude and ability to drive a successful multi-faceted resort operation at a very high level of service and performance. This is a role for a strong service orientated operator and visionary, who will focus on driving a sustainable guest service experience, foster innovation, while simultaneously inspiring, coaching and building high performing teams. The GM will have a collaborative style across all teams, both internally and externally, including working closely with ownership, management and other community stakeholders. Through integrity, transparency and positive morale his/her team will excel in creating a motivating and rewarding culture. This person is a ‘builder and a grower’ of people, process and property amenities.

The role is highly cross-functional, which means you get to work with not only your team at the Resort but other stakeholders including regional support team, other properties and an active ownership team.
You’ll serve as an influential sounding board and help apply a high level of rigor to decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work as a true partner with the ownership representatives and management team to carry out the Resort’s vision and future development.
Drive collaborative thinking with the leadership team to create a culture of being a servant to the staff and guest.
Direct, coordinate and monitor the development the facility’s annual business plan and operating/capital budgets.
Monitor and evaluate financial performance relative to budget goals and Analyze budget variances, develop and implement action plans to achieve appropriate adjustments.
Analyze and evaluate operations to determine productivity efficiencies budgeted standards. Develop and initiate action plans to achieve appropriate adjustments.
Review and approve financial expenditures and transactions relative to operations, services, and facilities/equipment within and according to established guidelines and procedures.
Assure the efficient and timely submission of all required operational, financial, budgetary and related
Manage the proper communication of system activities to help ensure coordination of activities between departments. Communicate clearly, tactfully, and persuasively with employees Take time to listen to your team.
Provide appropriate leadership in accord with culture and vision to promote positive employee morale and performance
Provide direction, supervision, and guidance to management staff to assist with their skill development and help ensure the successful development and implementation of appropriate departmental operating and safety plans, goals, and policies &
In concert with the Human Resources Team oversee and manage employment activities, including but not limited to, recruitment, performance evaluations, training, compensation, disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with Company human resources policies and
Assess the quality of guest service activities in all Formulate general plans and oversee their implementation towards achieving increased customer service excellence.
Assist in the planning and development of new guest amenities and support facilities at the Resort
Serve as the ‘face’ of the property in the local and surrounding communities which will require participation with various organizations and their committees.
Qualifications:
You hold a BS/MS degree in hospitality, business management, marketing or related/similar field
You have 8+ years of relevant and progressive experience in hospitality management and operations (Food and Beverage, Rooms, Guest Services).
You are a team player focused on the success of the entire team and all members/stakeholders
You are passionate about service and delivering a best-in-class guest experience by having a mindset that constant improvement is important within all levels of the organization.
You have grit, ambition and willingness to roll up your sleeves and tackle somethings hands-on; you go from building a written plan to hustling with your team to perform at service standards 100% of the time.
You are results orientated and have comfort in being held to high accountable for you and your team.
You have a proven track record in building and managing highly productive teams, possess a strong financial acumen and strong written and verbal communication skills.
You work at a very high speed and have a work ethic that is contagious.
