Senior Project Manager
to support our
Renewables and Utilities
services. This role involves managing the preparation of environmental documents (CEQA/NEPA), conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring regulatory compliance for renewable energy, electric transmission, and other energy projects. The Senior Project Manager will lead projects from planning through implementation, working closely with clients, agencies, and internal teams. This position also involves client interface, public presentations, and business development, including proposal preparation and cost estimating. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and a focus on professional growth within the renewable energy and utilities sector.
While this role may offer flexible work arrangements that can include a mix of in-office and remote work, our changing business needs will ultimately determine our level of remote-work flexibility. Additionally, to promote in-person collaboration and client teaming, we prioritize hiring those who reside within 50 miles of a Rincon office which currently includes: Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.Please note, this position is listed for the City of Los Angeles but is also available at all the locations stated in this job description.
Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:Project Management and Regulatory Compliance
Oversee the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documents for renewable energy, electric transmission, and energy generation projectsLead feasibility studies and constraints analyses, ensuring accurate assessment of project viabilityManage projects from entitlement through environmental analysis and implementation, ensuring regulatory compliance and successful executionEnsure coordination with technical and regulatory specialists for permitting and consultation to maintain complianceClient Interaction and Public Engagement
Serve as the primary client liaison, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring project goals align with client expectationsRepresent projects in public presentations to agency decision-making bodiesProvide expert guidance on CEQA/NEPA and ensure confident decision-making to meet client needsBusiness Development and Team Leadership
Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals, estimating project costs, and expanding client relationshipsTrain and mentor junior staff in CEQA/NEPA processes and environmental planning requirements, ensuring their professional growth
This Job Might Be for You If You Have the Following:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or a related field8+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, focusing on managing projects, technical work, and client relationships within the renewables or utilities sectors, ensuring timely project execution and adherence to budget constraintsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across functional areas to deliver high-quality projects aligned with client and regulatory requirementsExpertise in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with environmental standardsProficiency with digital project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for efficient management of tasks, schedules, and team communicationWillingness to travel as needed for project-related work

The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000–$140,000, plus benefits and a generous bonus program. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys. The base pay that is actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
