Provide technical expertise and project management associated with building structure design projectsDevelop structural engineering design solutions for buildings and structures integrating project objectives and design criteriaInteract and communicate effectively with design team membersDeliver complete and accurate structural designs and prepare structural drawings and details on-time and within design budgetAssist with task, project, contract proposals and business developmentPrepare engineering calculations and prepare technical reportsPerform field-related work including structure conditional inspections, site visits, and field inventoriesEnsure projects adhere to company quality control program and safety standardsCheck work of others as assignedReview construction shop drawings and submittalsCertify engineering design documents as requiredRequirements
Professional Registration: Professional Engineer (PE)Professional Registration: Structural Engineer is preferred, not necessaryBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil) with Structural Engineering emphasis (M.S. Engineering preferred)10+ years related work experiencePrior experience leading projects for MBTA or DCAMM in Boston, MAUnderstanding and ability to prepare design of structural steel, concrete, wood/timber, and masonry components and framing systemsStrong client relationship experience and the ability to manage complex projectsProven ability to build and manage successful project teamsWorking knowledge of IBC, AISC, and ACI Building CodesMust be knowledgeable of industry practices and regulations, as well as current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the projectStrong oral and written communication skillsWorking knowledge and proficiency with computer aided structural analysis/design software such as RISA 3D, Tekla, Fastrak, TEDDS, IES Quick Suite, IES Visual AnalysisWorking knowledge of Autodesk Revit
