Job PurposeNational Grid is hiring a Senior Director of Portfolio, Investment and Regulatory Management for our Strategy & Results Management department.

This position holds a pivotal leadership role within the organization, reporting to the VP, CIO of Strategy & Results Management. As a key leader of the Portfolio Management, Investment Planning, and Regulatory function, you will be responsible for managing the Global IT&D portfolio and investment planning functions. In addition, you will provide extensive thought leadership and oversight across the organization in relation to regulatory activities. Collaborating cross-functionally, you will exert significant external influence with regulators and other key stakeholders, playing a crucial role in developing compelling arguments to ensure successful outcomes are achieved.

This position offers hybrid flexibility, with the requirement that candidates reside in one of the following states: New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ), Massachusetts (MA), Connecticut (CT), Vermont (VT), Rhode Island (RI), Maine (ME), or New Hampshire (NH).

Key Accountabilities

Create comprehensive investment plans and regulatory recovery strategies to drive IT&D alignment with business goals.

Utilize expertise in investment planning, portfolio management, and data-driven decision-making to provide oversight and portfolio management in a bi-modal matrixed environment.

Collaborate with senior IT and business leadership to communicate actionable plans and define transformational programs.

Monitor program performance and ensure regulatory compliance.

Track, report, and measure portfolio delivery with aligned regulatory commitments.

Drive cultural and behavioral change to support organizational goals.

Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations, change management, facilitation, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field.

10+ years of experience in a services organization, with responsibilities in governance, portfolio planning and management, process oversight, and reporting/analytics.

10+ years of work experience in a regulated environment, with at least 5 years of direct government or regulatory experience; preference for electric or gas utility experience.

Demonstrated ability to work with teams from large technology and investment plans & regulatory recovery strategy consulting firms.

Proficiency in managing large and complex project portfolios, including tracking benefits and expenditures.

Strong consulting skills, including change management concepts, communication, and performance measurement system design.

Salary:

Waltham, MA $174,000 - $246,000 a year

Brooklyn, NY $187,000 - $264,000 a year

Syracuse, NY $156,000 - $220,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
