General Manager
is responsible for the development and execution of strategies and processes surrounding the continuous improvement of all aspects of the site P&L, including business development, safety, quality, service, and cost.Essential Duties and Responsibilities30-35 Direct/Indirect reportsDirect, manage, and hold complete P&L responsibility for the recycling plantDrive Safety Performance across the PlantProvide leadership to entire staff to effectively recruit, train, develop, evaluate, motivate, delegate, and monitor their activitiesContinually review operations activities, including local transportation activities to maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD)Develop a balanced approach to maximize best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the Plant while maintaining critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitabilityEnsure the consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant and in accordance with the 48forty Solutions businessOwn and drive cost control initiatives and process control within the PlantResponsible for managing a comprehensive sales funnel that delivers new business wins in existing and new verticals as well as lane expansions with existing customers while aligning with strategic initiatives of the Region and the overall businessDevelop and implement marketing strategies that enable growth and increased profitability through pricing strategies and identification of new segment opportunitiesResponsible for account management of existing customers to ensure profitability is improved through active price management and executing strategies for lane expansionExperience and QualificationsPrior experience in managing site level P&LFamiliarity with private fleet management/transportationStrong customer focus orientationExpert people management capability including hourly workersExperience managing safety performance and programsUnderstanding of supply chain practices and metricsBachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management or Logistics Strongly Preferred3-5 years of experience in Plant Management preferredExperience managing, developing, and training a teamWork Environment CharacteristicsAbility to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate.Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time.The employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, walk and use hands to handle, feel and reach.The noise level in the work environment depends on location.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination.48forty Solutions
