Position Summary
The Head of Tanker Inventory Requirements role is primarily responsible for analysis to identify reparable spares and consumable item inventory requirements for specific KC-135 aircraft fleets (at the enterprise level) and operating locations (at the site level) for the Metrea tanker fleet. After establishing these “pool sizes”, this role monitors consumption at enterprise and site inventory levels and drives a requisition demand (POs and ROs) to Metrea SCM procurement and repair functions to ensure pool size requirements are sustained. Regular updates to pool size requirements, as a result of analysis of consumption patterns across the fleet as well as at specific sites, is also a primary responsibility of this role. In addition, establishing and sustaining tanker ground support equipment (GSE) requirements for enterprise level and site inventories is a primary role of this position.
Role and Responsibilities
Oversees and conducts analysis of aircraft and support equipment component consumption in order to establish required forward site pool inventory and establishes enterprise global inventory requirements in order to ensure consistent sustainment of forward site inventory requirements.
Coordinates with heads of technical services for Metrea aircraft fleets in advance of aircraft heavy maintenance events in order to ensure heavy maintenance inventory requirements are fulfilled location prior to need during the heavy maintenance event.
Supports the Global Inventory Management team in the receiving, inspection, and binning of the daily deliveries of materials to global enterprise warehouse facilities. Supports outbound shipment of repairs and stock transfers to enable forward sites and heavy maintenance activities to meet required performance standards, to include assisting with:
Organizing and managing warehouse space to ensure efficient storage and security of materials.
Addressing and resolving issues related to shipping, receiving, or inventory discrepancies promptly and effectively.
Conducting receiving inspections to verify the quality and accuracy of shipments.
Ensuring that material inspection of incoming parts is in accordance with procedures as determined by the Chief Inspector and that rejected materials are tagged and stored per the established guidelines.
Supporting the management and disposition of Government Furnished Equipment based on government customer requirements and Metrea company policies and procedures.
Ensures that all materials requested by the forward site logistic teams are provided promptly to support line, overnight, and heavy check operations.
Coordinates with procurement team to ensure that parts and equipment that are requisitioned are ordered in a timely manner in after hour and AOG situations. Ensures that all activities relative to AOG and after hour AOG support are carried out in the most safe, expeditious, and economical way possible.
Assists with management of the inventory control program to ensure accurate identification and retrieval of parts/materials in support of Metrea’s fleet.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to keep them informed about status of pool sustainment efforts, to include any potential scheduling delays.
Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Excel at resolving complex challenges with a strategic and thoughtful approach.
Required Education:
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a similar aviation-related field
Required Experience:
5+ years of logistics and supply chain management.
3 years of specific experience in aviation logistics, with focus on fleet and site spares and consumable inventory requirements analysis and pool management.
Familiar with Asset Pool Sizing software and optimization processes.
Familiarity with the KC-135 through work in supply or maintenance functions supporting a line tanker operation or heavy maintenance activity.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite.
Expert level in Microsoft Excel.
Significant experience working with aviation inventory management systems which interface with aircraft maintenance management systems.
Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates:
Education: Associate’s Degree.
Experience with Veryon, AMOS, or similar platform.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365.
Experience working in an enterprise or fleet level supply function supporting the KC-135.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.
Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
Must have a valid driver’s license.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
Travel: Travel requirements are between 25 – 35%.
Work Location: Temecula, CA.
