Summary / purpose of the position
As the Oniyvde Asset Lead, he/she is accountable for maximizing and delivering Oniyvde value targets. He/she will lead a cross-functional Global Oniyvde Asset Team to successfully define and deliver the integrated asset strategy and development and commercial plans in close collaboration with Global R&D, Tech Ops and Alliances divisions, GPPS, and Affiliates during a period of Oniyvde life cycle.
As the Oncology Portfolio Strategy head, he/she in collaboration with Head of NPP & Strategy, R&D, GMA and BD co-leads the strategic planning and execution of our oncology portfolio . He/she plays a critical role in driving the growth and success of our oncology pipeline, ensuring alignment with Ipsen strategy, and maximizing the value of our oncology assets.
Main responsibilities / job expectations
As Oniyvde Asset Lead :
Define and deliver an integrated asset strategy and plan for Oniyvde to address patient needs
Create scientific and commercial value from development to commercialization, from late development phase to patent expiry; own the overall program strategy, establishes project goals and leads a cross-functional team to meet the program objectives
Outline an integrated development strategy that shapes the competitive and prescription landscape including BD opportunity that could grow the asset
Translate the strategy into an efficiently executable high-level roadmap with clear priorities and oversee operations, ensure a strong alignment with all functions, and drive operational excellence in execution, is accountable for achieving agreed upon milestones and KPIs for asset with support of a project manager.
Identify opportunities through bold and disruptive leadership, starting with a vision translated into robust planning based on internal and external insights.
Set short- and long-term product strategy and operational priorities within corporate priorities. Accountable for driving and coordination of development, registration, launch and market facing activities and LCM according to product strategy and set on a course to maximize both near- and long-term value. Lead communication platform across all key internal and external stakeholders.
With the support of a strong project manager, ensures that a comprehensive risk mitigation plan is maintained and implemented to address potential risk to the Asset
Maintains good scientific, technical and clinical expertise in the specific therapeutic area. Critically reads and evaluates relevant medical literature with good understanding of the data and deep status from competitive products and with said knowledge develop a life cycle management strategy.
Integrates and create a high performing Asset team to execute the Asset strategy:
Lead the cross-functional Global Asset Team to build the vision and strategy to maximize value of the Asset
Together with functions, outlines the resource and internal/external needs for the 5Y plan, to ensure the right allocation of efforts and resources to maximize value and to challenge resource allocation across functions
Builds and effectively leads high performing and motivated cross-functional teams and succeeds through authentic leadership at the highest levels
Together with each function head, sets objectives for the dedicated members of the Global Asset Team and assesses individual performance for objectives linked to the asset
Create a continuous improvement mindset and finds innovative ways of working and creating a constant learning environment leveraged through benchmarking (e.g.: bold regulatory strategies, open-innovation partnership, competitive intelligence)
Manage Asset budget
Oversee the Asset budget, from planning and reporting
Manage projects prioritization within the budget
Provide strong insights for arbitration within the activities
As the Head of Oncology Portfolio Strategy :
Co-define and deliver an Oncology Portfolio Strategy in collaboration with other Ipsen divisions such as NPP & Strategy, R&D, GMA & BD ensuring alignment with the overall Ipsen strategy
Part of the Oncology Leadership Team (Commercial, Medical, R&D & BD)
Co-develop and articulate a clear vision for the oncology portfolio that aligns with the company’s overall mission and strategic objectives.
Co-lead the creation of long-term and short-term strategic plans for the oncology external innovation efforts, ensuring they are comprehensive, actionable, and aligned with market opportunities and company goals.
Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities, including new markets, partnerships, and acquisitions, to enhance the oncology portfolio.
Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape in the oncology sector.
Utilize market insights to identify unmet needs and potential areas for portfolio expansion.
Drive innovation by identifying and evaluating new technologies, therapies, and partnerships that can enhance the oncology portfolio.
Promote a culture of innovation within the organization, encouraging the exploration of novel approaches and solutions.
Lead initiatives to integrate cutting-edge scientific advancements into the portfolio strategy.
For both :
Develop and manage strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Role model and ambassador for the Asset and Oncology portfolio with our internal Ipsen partners and external partners (investors…), with representatives from the scientific community and health authorities, and in any interactions with health care practitioners and patients
Serves as the spokesperson for Oncology portfolio Assets, reporting progress, risks and issues to functional and executive leaders
Represent the interests of the assets at the Governance Committee
If appropriate, be accountable for effective management of the Company’s partners, all medical and scientific accounts including contribution to Joint Steering Committee +/- Development and/or Commercial Committees
Spend a significant proportion of time outside Ipsen to represent the company in congresses, in any meetings with KOL or authorities
Provide strong support to the countries on all topics related to the Asset
Ethics & Compliance
Complete all above activities within the framework and in compliance with R&D SOPs, external GCPs and guidelines as well as other relevant policies in force within the Ipsen Group or under national and/or international authorities under which jurisdiction Ipsen is operating
Knowledge, abilities & experience
Education / Certifications:
Advanced degree in business, medical or life science, MD, PhD or MBA or equivalent experience
Experience:
Ideally brings 10+ years of pharmaceutical experience in significant commercial leadership, medical affairs leadership or general management positions including working with development, manufacturing and market access teams leading and influencing teams, both in a direct and indirect setting
Ideally alternated experience between in-country marketing roles and regional/global brand or franchise leadership positions
Market-relevant experience of therapy area, including the competitive landscape and Key External Experts
Proven international experience
Track record of successful product launches within such therapy area.
Strong business or medical experience in one of the top 5 European markets (UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy) or in North America (US, Canada)
Languages:
Fluent English is compulsory
