About the OpportunityJOB SUMMARY:The Assistant Director of Recruiting and Employer Engagement is a critical member of the Employer Engagement and Career Design team. Reporting directly to the team's Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Career Design, they assist with coordinating and marketing of employer programs such as Employer Connection Sessions, Coffee Chats, Employer in Residence sessions and other employer events designed to enhance recruiting strategies at Northeastern, create increased experiential learning opportunities for students and applications to internships and jobs. They are the central contact for all employer profiles and job approvals on department's database (NUworks), onboarding of new employers and coaching them through the initial job posting process, encourage employers to share feedback on on-site recruiting experiences, provide quality customer service to employers on site, assist in problem solving when needed. The Assistant Director will develop and maintain successful relationships with alums, parents, and student organizations on campus and engage in professional development opportunities to stay up to date on emerging trends, issues and innovations in the field.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Review and Manage job listings and employer profiles on Northeastern's career management system (NUworks).Provide a high level of customer service to employers and students participating in our on campus recruiting program on site, or virtual.Point of contact for employers and students on details of job postings and applications.Coach employers who inquire about denial of employer profiles or job listings per recruiting best practices to increase chances of approval.Onboard new employers through NUworks, coach and assist employers with initial engagement via job/internship postings.Oversee the day-to-day operations and provide guidance and support of the on campus/virtual recruiting team in collaboration with the Recruiting Coordinator, including job and internship development, Northeastern Talent Connect, connection sessions, coffee chats and other student/employer engagement events and programming.Ensure that NU's job and career management platform maximizes opportunities for employers and organizations to connect with our students through new programs and initiatives.Track outcomes with regards to on campus/virtual recruiting for reporting to senior leadership.Identify, research, conduct outreach and follow up on employer requests pertaining to participation in our experiential learning programs and on campus recruiting.Pro-actively represent Northeastern University to employers in all sectors at recruitment events, professional associations, alumni chapters and via digital email campaigns in order to educate hiring sources on University programs and services.Collaborate on coordination of employer programming among internal teams and external departments to ensure optimization of employer recruiting visits that meet the needs of employers, students and faculty.Research and stay informed in national, state and local hiring practices, employment trends and other labor related issues.Attend department-wide meetings to provide perspective on recruiting challenges, successes, process improvements, creative solutions to issues, employer-partnership/industry insights and proposed methods of improving work flow.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Five to seven years work experience is required; preferably in a career center, recruiting or business environment.Individual must have strong communication, outreach, and problem-solving skills.This position requires a solid understanding and ability to use current career management technology platforms as well as desire to learn and master new technologies and platforms.Candidates must demonstrate strong organization skills, written and oral communication skills; the ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail; demonstrate initiative and a motivated/enthusiastic work style; and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents.Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is expected.Ability to work with students, faculty, staff and administrators internally and externally; strong work ethic tempered by a sense of personal and professional balance, including some flexibility in times during peak recruiting season.Position Type:
