Gilead operates in more than 35 countries worldwide, with headquarters in Foster City, California.The USMA Associate Director of Scientific Collaboration reports directly to the USMA Scientific Collaboration, Sr Director and will serve as a point of contact for US Medical Affairs engagement with US external societies and medical scientific organization, and a cross functional partner across virology. This position is located at our Headquarters in Foster City, CA.Essential Duties and Job FunctionsDevelop novel medical educational tools and medical symposiums for conferences based on virology strategies.Develop tools for scientific engagement and education.Assist with coordination of external societies and scientific/medical organizations.Manage US key initiatives and collaborations with external societal and scientific educational organizations.Work cross functionally within US Affiliate teams (USMA, Commercial, Legal and Medical Governance, Public Affairs and Government Affairs) and on initiatives related to key external engagements, projects, and working groups.Exhibit Gilead’s core values: integrity, teamwork, accountability, excellence, and inclusion in accordance with the highest ethical and compliance standards, including Gilead’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct policies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.Knowledge, Experience and SkillsMD, PharmD, NP or PA or other advanced health care degree and 3+ years of relevant clinical experience in HIV treatment and/or prevention.2+ years industry or government agency experience preferred.Ability to develop and maintain effective, positive relationships with external scientific and medical organizations and extensive experience in cross-functional stakeholder management.Demonstrate ability to contribute to strategy and translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in plain language documents.Excellent strategic and organizational skills to support project management/planning across multiple activities at conferences and within community engagement events.Ability to anticipate and prioritize workload on multiple ongoing projects.Excellent teamwork skills, both in leading and as part of a cross functional team. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
