iMentor
Senior Data Analyst Flexible/Remote – Full-Time
iMentor, Chicago, Illinois, United States, 60290
Reporting to the Managing Director of iMentor’s Organizational Learning and Impact (OLI) team, the Senior Data Analyst will support the research and analytics work of the team. The OLI team is primarily responsible for helping iMentor evaluate and learn from our program models, ensuring a thorough understanding of the impact of our programs and partnerships. The Senior Data Analyst will play a vital role in advancing the team’s research and analytics initiatives. In particular, they will be responsible for:Wrangling data from back-end systems such as iMentor’s proprietary platform (programmed in MongoDB), iMentor’s data warehouse, Qualtrics (surveys), Mainstay (texting platform), and third-party data sources such as college enrollment records.Joining, cleaning, and analyzing data.Preparing reports and interactive dashboards.Responding to numerous requests from other departments for data and data support.Maintaining documentation. An example of research support is preparing a Long-Term Outcomes dashboard that combines data from multiple sources about each student to create a composite view of how students are progressing towards iMentor’s intended outcomes. This tool allows internal stakeholders to segment results by students’ demographic characteristics as well as by elements related to the iMentor experience, e.g., length of match. The Senior Data Analyst would also be responsible for quality assurance processes, supporting the use of the dashboard, and responding to helpdesk tickets about the data in this dashboard. An example of analytics support is conducting analyses of iMentor’s social and emotional outcome metrics (such as sense of belonging, self-concept, and strength of pair relationship) in order to confirm their validity and reliability, identify areas needing improvement in measurement, determine how they are impacted by specific types of program participation, and suggest ways to augment current measurements with ongoing, in-real-time assessments. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to apply their research and analytic skills to help solve interesting, impactful, real-world problems and to help young people achieve their potential through mentoring.
