Cape Fox Lodge has a terrific opportunity for a talented General Manager at our premier property in beautiful Ketchikan Alaska!
Nestled in the breathtaking hillside of Ketchikan, Cape Fox Lodge features a ski-style interior exhibiting local native art, a river rock fireplace, beamed ceilings, overstuffed chairs and spectacular views of forest, mountains, and water.
Cape Fox Lodge offers 69 guest rooms, 2 suites and one deluxe room. Our on-site restaurant, the Heen Kahidi, features a seasonal menu that includes Alaskan King crab. The adjacent lounge has monthly drink specials and entertainment. Our three-story lodge is located in Tongass National Forest. The surrounding Tongass National Forest provides numerous recreational opportunities including flightseeing, sportfishing, eagle watching, kayaking, and hiking. Downtown Ketchikan, three blocks away, offers historic buildings and museums that explore the city's colorful past.

Job Summary
The General Manager will utilize hands-on management, training and motivation to assure the highest level of customer service afforded to guests. The General Manager will oversee the hotel operations by ensuring the creation and execution of business plans, marketing strategies, sales activities, cost containments, analysis, property maintenance and security.
The General Manager is also responsible for direct oversight of each department head and consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the lodge by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction and effectiveness and efficiencies.
Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
Hospitality training or education preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of full-service hotel management experience highly desired.
5-10 years of hospitality hotel experience.
Two year college degree, or equivalent experience required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A team builder who has a history of attracting, developing and retaining a high-performance staff able to be both responsible and accountable to deliver service standards that exceed all guest expectations.
An intuitive style resulting in a sincere and clearly engaged presence with customers, guests and staff. Having the stamina, sensitivity and overall multi-tasking ability to manage and lead in this type of environment is critical.
Fundamental understanding of what constitutes a ‘premier lodge experience’, and the proven ability and history to execute to that level is fundamental.
Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Self-motivated with minimal oversight.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
