General Summary:

Provides operational support based on the needs of the team or department and knowledge of the technical area (e.g., processes, procedures, equipment, and tools). Manages and implements departmental policies and initiatives to meet operational goals, quality, and cost objectives. Manages plans based on project and resource requirements for assigned areas, and tracks metrics and budgets to support staffing, equipment, and other operational needs.

Position requires to be on onsite in San Diego full time.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant operations experience.

OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of relevant operations experience with 2+ of those years involving leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.

6+ years of relevant experience managing a 24 x 7 Operations Organization.

4+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.

3+ years of experience in technology manufacturing or related industry.

3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

2+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides operational support based on the needs of the supported team, advanced knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, tools, and engineering/electronics principles, and 5S principles.

Experience managing a test floor with up to 30-40 technicians/engineers.

Manages plans based on project and resource requirements for assigned areas. Develops and implements process improvements to increase efficiencies across teams.

Tracks metrics and small to medium-sized budgets to support staffing, equipment, and other operational needs. Escalates issues or deviations in metrics.

Manages analyses to identify where an issue has occurred and makes recommendations for how to address the issue.

Leads the gathering, integrating, and interpreting of information across a variety of sources and identifies fundamental patterns/trends.

Collaborates with individuals inside and outside of their own function to integrate projects and/or ensure changes work with other components of a specific project.

Communicates within own team, project lead, and/or other teams to provide status and information about impending obstacles and suggest remediation.

Manages team project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for small to mid-sized projects.

Manages and communicates priorities based on new product introductions, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.

Re-scopes projects, identifies resources, delegates work, and reviews the work of team members in order to address changing timelines or priorities.

Level of Responsibility:

Works independently with minimal supervision.

Provides supervision to other supervisors/managers who are direct reports.

Decision-making may affect work beyond the immediate work group.

Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.

Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department.

Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).

Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$134,000.00 - $201,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
