Under the guidance of the Dean, the Program Director will ensure the excellence and continuous improvement of Fortune School of Education’s District Intern Program (Education Specialist track). The Director will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a social justice orientation, and an asset-based approach to teaching and learning.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Engaging in recruitment initiatives;Teaching a full load of courses and practicums per year;Addressing intern concerns while promoting a culture of academic excellence;Developing and reviewing program curricula;Coordinating Field Supervision;Implementing the Faculty Evaluation protocol;Directing the day-to-day activities of the program, including course schedules and instructor assignments;Implementing Special Education New Standards and Performance Assessments;Participating in trainings and meetings organized by the California Commission for Teacher Credentialing (CCTC);Contributing to the Department’s accreditation efforts;Serving in committees and other Department or Organization-wide initiatives, as assigned by the Dean.Minimum Qualifications:Required knowledge, skills & abilities:Experience teaching in credentialing programs.Experience with higher education.Experience with curriculum development, implementation, and assessment.Experience with accreditation.Experience:Master’s degree in Education from an accredited institution. An Earned Doctorate is preferred.Current clear Education Specialist teaching credential issued by the State of California is required.Track record of successful teaching and advising.Working Conditions:Hearing and speaking to conduct group training, exchange information in person electronically and over the telephone.Ability to read printed material and computer screens. Ability to understand speech at normal levels.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.Kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and supplies.Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach, walk, sit and stand for extended periods of time.
