Position title: Program Support InternBureau of Humanitarian Assistant (BHA)Organization and Unit: International Organization for Migration (IOM)Duty Station: IOM Country Office with Resource Mobilization Function, Washington, DC (in office)Proposed Duration: 6 monthsLength & Hours: This position is 40 hours/ week; Open to candidates who are eligible to work in the United States.Stipend available: Min USD725 – Max USD1400
Context:Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the National Program Officer (Community Stabilization Unit), the incumbent will provide administrative support to programs and funding opportunities which primarily falls under the responsibility of the Community Stabilization Unit (CSU), with a specific focus on project activities funded by USAID.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Develop a strong understanding of IOM’s Public International Organization status and partnership with USAID;Develop a strong understanding of USAID policies, procedures and funding mechanisms;Keep track, synthesize and disseminate new donor guidance to integrate and respond to the evolving program dynamics at mission-level;Provide support in the review, formatting and editing of proposals and other project deliverables, as well as support reprogramming efforts of current awards;Provide support to the systematic use of the Shelter Checklist in the review of proposals;Liaise with IOM Missions providing guidance on donor requirements, templates, etc.;Prepare reports, briefs and/or newsletters to highlight IOM’s USG donor funded activities implemented globally;Organize and manage the filing of all award documents received from donor; Maintain accurate record keeping;Participate in all relevant donor meetings and draft meeting notes for internal dissemination;Any other tasks as requested by the direct supervisors.Education:The qualified candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Science, International Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.Preferred Skills:
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.Experience supporting project development and/or management of USG funded programs.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Discreet, detail and client-oriented, patient and a willingness to learn new things.Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.Strong writing and editing skills.Strong research and data analysis skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Experience in developing newsletters, infographics and other communication tools preferred.Languages:For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written).Required Competencies:Values:
