Courses are offered in online and hybrid formats at the main campus in Milton, Massachusetts.

General Summary

The Labouré College of Healthcare seeks an experienced, student-centered professional with a record of accomplishment as an educator and administrator who embraces the college’s mission to provide high-quality education to prepare future healthcare professionals.

Reporting to the President and the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs (AVPAA), the AVPAA provides the college with broad strategic and day-to-day academic leadership. The AVPAA is a member of the President’s Council and is expected to ensure that the College runs effectively and efficiently by developing, monitoring, and achieving institutional and academic goals. In addition, the AVPAA fosters collaboration among disciplines and departments and works with faculty and academic administrators at College-wide to promote student success and degree completion.

Labouré offers professional and general education courses online and in person, taught by committed faculty members with extensive field experience. Labouré’s faculty and staff share a deep commitment to student success and work together to ensure that every student has the tools and support they need to earn a post-secondary degree that has value in the labor market.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership in all areas of academic affairs, including supervision of full-time and part-time faculty and staff and curriculum in the Life Sciences, Humanities, Social/Behavioral Sciences, and Health Science disciplines, along with specific Certificate programs (EKG, Phlebotomy, Gerontology, etc.), the Associate in Health Science and Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration.

Collaborates with other members of the college leadership team to research, develop, and implement new academic programs.

Develops, interprets, and refines academic curriculum, policy, and procedures.

Oversees the planning and execution of activities and processes to assess academic effectiveness, evaluates student learning objectives, and oversees internal review processes designed to promote student learning outcomes attainment.

Oversees the planning and implementation of a comprehensive professional development program and related activities for faculty and academic administrators.

Collaborates with the Vice President of Student Services on initiatives to promote student success and degree completion.

Fosters positive relationships with administration, faculty, students, staff, and community partners.

Oversees all relevant personnel matters, including recruitment, hiring, evaluation, promotion, reappointment, and continuing appointment by College policy guidelines, contractual agreements, and relevant law.

Supports high-quality, student-centered teaching and learning; oversees developing and implementing effective, technologically enhanced teaching tools and strategies; promotes student learning, retention, and completion practices.

Helps identify external funding sources, such as federal and state grants and private foundations, to support innovative academic programs' development and ongoing implementation.

Supervises, reviews, and approves the academic content of all College publications in collaboration with the Dean of Nursing and Executive Director of Communications and Development.

Oversees the development of the College master schedule of course offerings.

Collaborates on the development and administration of the College budget.

Develops and maintains external and internal relationships to provide academic leadership for the college; addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Functions as the college liaison to regulatory and accreditation agencies and professional groups.

Ensures the timely and accurate completion of programmatic accreditation and regulatory reporting.

Serves on College academic committees, including Curriculum and Academic Policy, and other committees as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A doctoral degree is preferred, a master’s degree is required, and a substantial record of incremental academic administrative experience in higher education, preferably at an institution that serves a large population of non-traditional students. Expertise in curriculum development, academic outcomes assessment, health professions accreditation, policy development, and implementation is highly desirable. A minimum of six years or more experience related to the profession in higher education, with at least four years in a senior-level leadership role. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a complex higher education environment will be needed to be successful in this role.
