Proactively solicit new business from assigned territoryPromptly follow up on leads from inquiries, referrals or sales callsMaintain regular contact with top account base through sales calls and client entertainmentShowcase the parks to potential clients through site inspectionsKeep assigned accounts updated on new developments at the Sea World San Diego and Sesame Place ParksNetwork at industry and hosted eventsGenerate new ideas and programs to increase salesParticipate in trade shows, annual meetings of major meeting professional organizations, sales blitzes, and arrange sales calls to clients in assigned marketsComplete special assignments as neededMaintain an individual booking goal and contribute to the team booking goal for catering sales contributionsCreate/update sales presentations and maintain pricing and information to keep proposals currentAct as back-up support for Event Sales Team membersPerform other duties as assignedWhat it takes to succeed:
Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field such as hospitality sales or event planning. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Event Management preferred3-5 years of combined education and industry experience preferredStrong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English.Possess strong customer service and support skillsHave the ability to work independently with little supervision at timesBe highly organized and able to balance multiple competing prioritiesProficient in computer programs including Microsoft OfficeHave knowledge of website maintenance and social media applicationsBe at least 18 years oldValid state driver’s licenseDemonstrate the ability to make solid decisions under pressure with limited informationPossess strong sales presentation skillsBe able to lift at least 50 lbsAvailable to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidaysExperience with catering sales or theme park event sales preferredExperience dealing with decision makers in the sales process preferredSalary: 70,000 - 75,000 Base + CommissionThe perks of the position:
