Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer.The Senior Network Engineer is a subject matter specialist for all aspects of network routing, switching, and firewall operations in all wired, wireless, and virtual Carollo Networks. The role involves design, installation, operation, security, and support for a nationwide network. It includes capacity planning, network augmentation, strategic expansion and the development and maintenance of Carollo’s networking standards, processes, procedures, and documentation. The individual will have the opportunity to design, install, operate, secure, and maintain Carollo's current and next generation data networks for both on premise and cloud-based business application computing needs. This individual will work closely with Information Security, Infrastructure and Application team members to deliver a superior class of network services and support.This position is a hybrid position. Candidate must reside within commuting distance of a Carollo office.ResponsibilitiesDesign, install, secure, operate, troubleshoot, manage, and support all Carollo Networking Infrastructure.Develop best practice network designs and supporting drawings and documentation.Design, install and maintain secure micro-network segmented networks.Design, install, configure, and maintain end-to-end network traffic shaping and prioritization configurations to support latency sensitive Video and VoIP application services.Monitor network capacity performance against established baselines and service levels.Design, configure, install, and optimize wireless networks for traditional office locations or project sites.Design, configure, install, and maintain highly available network solutions to support critical application computing services.Use network protocol analyzers to solve networking or application problems or to audit, test, and optimize applications or networks.Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on all networking projects or tasks to Network and Telecom Administrators and other IT staff as needed.Evaluate current processes, procedures, and documentation. Identify areas for improvement, make recommendations and implement approved enhancements.Review, plan and implement proactive support upgrades, patches, and all other network maintenance activities to address any defective code or potential security vulnerabilities.Evaluate capacity, performance, and bandwidth requirements for on premise and cloud-based applications.Collaborate, plan, configure, and test with other IT teams on common projects and initiatives.Ensure all IT Networking assets are hardened, patched, secured, configured, serviced, and maintained.Work with Network Administrators, Information Security Analysts, and IT Leadership to develop, maintain, and execute IT Networking strategy.Qualifications6+ years designing, installing, and managing enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.Advanced level experience working with Cisco ASA FirePOWER (NGFW, IPS, IDS), Fortinet IPS/UTM, SDWAN, Cisco AnyConnect, Cisco Catalyst 9300, Nexus 9300, Nexus 9500 switches, Cisco Meraki MR Access Points (WIFI-6) and MX security appliances.Advanced level experience designing, installing, and managing Fortinet NGFW unified threat management solutions, SD-WAN, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, ZTNA and FortiClient.Experience working with network protocol analyzers, IPv4/6, Routing, VRFs, IGRP, OSPF, and BGP dynamic routing protocols, VLANs, SPT, trunks, ether-channels, VPCs, CAT5/6/7 cabling including MDF/IDF and riser installations, single and multimode fiber optics, and media converter technologies.Experience working with Microsoft Azure virtual networks and other competing cloud-based virtual network platforms.Experience working with enterprise class storage networking solutions using FC, FCoE, iSCSI protocols.Experience developing and evaluating requirements, specifications, and proposals.Experience working with enterprise network monitoring applications.Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks (ITIL, ISO20000, and ISO27001).Preferred QualificationsCCNP certificationFortinet NSE5 certificationPay Range$100,000 to $130,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
