Position Summary:
Odyssey Systems is recruiting for a
Program Director
to lead 180 FTEs. In this role, you will support PM Soldier Survivability (SSV), which is located at Ft. Belvoir, VA. The support required under this effort includes engineering, quality assurance and test support, acquisition support, business management support, logistics and fielding support, operations support, and administrative support. The specific task areas include program management, analysis, planning, studies, liaison, and operations support, strategic communications, engineering and logistics support, new equipment training, system test and product fielding support, acquisition and contracting support, software development and system safety, studies and analysis and quick response support. PM SSV’s mission is to equip, clothe, and protect Soldiers to maximize performance today and provide enhanced capability tomorrow. PM SSV’s products protect Soldiers and allow them to operate in any condition. Product Manager Air Warrior (PdM AW), Product Manager Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment (PdM SCIE) and Product Manager Soldier Protective Equipment (PdM SPE) are subordinate Product Offices in PM SSV.

Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
Serves as the contractor on-site program manager.
Provides day-to-day direction, management, and oversight for contractor personnel.
Provides expert functional guidance to employees.
Interfaces with Government management to resolve problems.
Resolves contractor personnel problems and issues when identified by the Government lead or Contracting Officers’ Representative (COR).
Establishes priorities of work to subordinates based on Government goals and objectives.
Interfaces between Government customers, COR, and Contractor.
Performs other PM direct support functional roles.
Distributes and balances workload in accordance with established workflows and ensures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
Gives on-the-job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
Leads the team in assessing its strengths and weaknesses and provides leadership to the team in exploring alternatives and determining improvements.
Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, suspenses, and time frames for completion.
Assigns work to personnel according to workload, ability, and priority of assignment and provides instruction and assistance as necessary on problems or issues.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training contractor employees.
Responsible for the performance of all contractual requirements.

Technical Skills:
Previous senior management experience in the delivery of technical and management services (Program Management and Operations execution).
Capability to work effectively with a broad range of people with a wide variety of technical skills and experience.
Ability to react quickly in a rapidly changing environment, motivate and manage a team, and support staff.
Ability/experience managing professional personnel in a defense environment.
Ability/experience managing contract execution in a defense environment (hours, vacancies, funding, performance, quality).
Ability/experience managing contract financial execution/tracking/expenditures in a defense environment.
Ability/experience interfacing regularly with Government clients (Military and Civilian) on all aspects of contract execution.
Risk management experience.
Defense Acquisition System experience.
Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Leadership experience with the ability to manage teams.
Strong negotiation skillset.
Strong personal organization skills.
Strong communication skills, written and oral.
