Overview:Knox County Community Health Center (KCCHC) is seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our integrated healthcare organization, which provides medical, dental, and behavioral health services to the community. KCCHC is located in semi-rural Knox County, offering the unique opportunity to address healthcare disparities in a designated health professional shortage area, while being close to larger metropolitan centers. Our mission is to improve the overall health of the community by providing accessible, high-quality care to underserved populations, particularly in areas with limited access to primary medical, dental, and behavioral health services. As a Public Entity, Co-Applicant Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) model, this position will also report to the Health Commissioner and assist to support the mission and vision of the health department.
As the CEO, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational leadership of KCCHC. You will work closely with the Health Commissioner, Board of Directors, community partners, and the executive team to enhance healthcare access, improve patient outcomes, and ensure financial sustainability. Your leadership will shape the future of the organization as we continue to expand our services and meet the evolving healthcare needs of Knox County.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic plan to expand KCCHC's medical, dental, and behavioral health services, ensuring the organization continues to meet the needs of the community.
Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of the health center, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care across all services while optimizing efficiency and resource management.
Financial Management: Lead financial planning, budgeting, and revenue cycle management to maintain financial stability and support growth. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements, including FQHC and HRSA regulations.
Community Engagement: Act as a primary representative of KCCHC within Knox County, building relationships with community leaders, healthcare organizations, and other stakeholders to advocate for healthcare access and public health initiatives.
Board Collaboration: Work closely with the Co-Applicant Board to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with the organization's goals. Provide regular updates on organizational performance and strategic initiatives.
Compliance and Quality Improvement: Ensure that KCCHC adheres to all regulatory and accreditation standards, and implement continuous quality improvement programs to enhance patient care across all service areas.
Leadership Development: Cultivate a high-performing leadership team and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional development throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare organization, with a strong understanding of integrated healthcare models involving medical, dental, and behavioral health services. Experience in an FQHC or community health center is highly desirable.
Financial: Expertise in healthcare finance, including managing diverse funding streams, grants, and reimbursement models such as Medicaid and Medicare.
Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HRSA, FQHC requirements, and quality standards for medical, dental, and behavioral health services.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams and drive organizational success through strategic vision and operational excellence.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including patients, staff, community partners, and the Board of Directors.
Mission-Driven: A passion for providing accessible, high-quality care to underserved populations and a commitment to addressing healthcare disparities.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in federal and state grant writing and management
Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology
Experience in public health advocacy and policy
Knowledge of FQHCs or Community Health Centers
Knowledge of Public Entity, Co-Applicant FQHC model
