The Sensor Architecture team is a multi-disciplinary team that develops state-of-the-art technologies and sensor modules across Apple’s product portfolio, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and more.DescriptionThe key focus areas for the team include:Architecting the entire sensor system for each product—defining key figures of merit, setting specifications, and authoring requirements specifications for the entire sensor-system-tree to guarantee the customer experienceBuilding comprehensive sensor models that capture the entire signal chain—physical, electrical, and algorithmic—to streamline algorithm prototyping and guarantee performance in high-volume productionFirst-principles physical modeling and analysis to better understand design tradeoffs in our sensor designs and efficiently intuit optimal solutionsCo-architect and assess design tradeoffs with partner teams like display, wireless charging, and product design, to ensure best-possible performance for the entire productIdentifying novel sensing architectures and similar opportunities to significantly impact performance.Minimum QualificationsBS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experienceB.S. Degree in one of these fields: Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics.Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of electrical engineering, transducer physics, and system engineeringExperience in modeling, building, and testing complex multi-physics systemsProficiency in MATLAB and COMSOL or equivalent packagesAbility to add clarity to ambiguous design spaces, independently converge technical issues, and align efforts across teamsExcellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skillsSignal processing techniques, both analog and digitalLinear algebra, probability, and statisticsSoftware architecture best practices for complicated tool flowsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
