The Onyx Research Data Tech organization is GSK's Research data ecosystem which has the capability to bring together, analyze, and power the exploration of data at scale. Ultimately, this helps us get ahead of disease in more predictive and powerful ways.Onyx is a full-stack shop consisting of product and portfolio leadership, data engineering, infrastructure and DevOps, data / metadata / knowledge platforms, and AI/ML and analysis platforms, all geared toward:Building a next-generation, metadata- and automation-driven data experience for GSK's scientists, engineers, and decision-makers, increasing productivity and reducing time spent on "data mechanics".Providing best-in-class AI/ML and data analysis environments to accelerate our predictive capabilities and attract top-tier talent.Aggressively engineering our data at scale, as one unified asset, to unlock the value of our unique collection of data and predictions in real-time.Purpose of OnyxOnyx Product Management is at the heart of our mission, ensuring that everything from our infrastructure, to platforms, to end-user facing data assets and environments is designed to maximize our impact on R&D. The Product Management team partners with R&D stakeholders and Onyx leadership to develop a strategic roadmap for all customer-facing aspects of Onyx, including data assets, ontology, Knowledge Graph / semantic search, data / computing / analysis platforms, and data-powered applications.We are seeking a talented and experienced senior product designer to join the product management team. As a senior product designer, you will lead the product design strategy, user experience research, design, and development of user-centered solutions to increase the overall experience of our data products and services. You will work closely with the product team and engineering teams to translate business goals and user needs into design solutions.Key Responsibilities:Lead user research, understanding scientific workflows and pain points by working with scientists and product managers to develop user-friendly and solid user experiences.Lead the UX strategy and design process, responsible for the concept ideation, wireframes, prototypes, design sprints that address the specific needs of key personas.Oversee product design roadmap and design sprint.Lead the validation of product concepts effectively by developing prototypes and interactive mockups with scientific customers and engineers.Collaborate with product managers to define requirements, prioritize features, and iterate design solutions.Engage with users effectively, applying strategic thinking and user-centered methodology to communicate the value of key solutions.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in UI/UX Design, product design or related field.7+ years of relevant design experience in UI/UX design, interaction, and product design with a Bachelor's.5+ years of relevant design experience in UI/UX design, interaction, and product design with a Master's.3+ years of related design experience in cloud-based products or data platforms.Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma and others.Experience working in complex platforms, using UX design as a tool to direct product strategy; pharma or biotech experience are preferred.Strong understanding of leveraging quantitative data to inform product and design decisions.Experience collaborating closely with scientific and engineering teams.Familiar with agile/scrum methodologies.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to present design concepts with product managers, engineers, stakeholders, and customers.The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $145,350 to $196,650 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share-based long-term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role.
