Overview:
UW Medicine Advancement has an excellent opportunity for an Associate Director for Philanthropy to join their team. The Associate Director focuses on securing major gifts ($25,000+) for the UW Medicine Eye Institute and cultivating donors capable of giving at that level.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Fundraising Responsibilities – 85%:
Make 9-10 personal cultivation/solicitation/stewardship visits per month to assess the interests and capacity of potential donors.
Cultivate longtime annual donors for planned giving possibility.
Develop and present 15-20 gift proposals each year with a target of securing an average of $1 million in new commitments.
Serve as a qualification officer for new leads for major gift prospects.
Manage a portfolio of 100-125 donor prospects ($25,000+) with a focus on those with potential of $50,000+.
Collaborate with major gift officers to develop prospect pool and track all donor activity.
Work with colleagues to ensure that the annual fund plan supports personal qualification and solicitation strategies.
Activities in Support of Direct Fundraising – 15%:
Support the development of annual operating plan including quantitative and qualitative goals and objectives.
Prepare written proposals, gift illustrations, and informational materials needed to secure major gifts.
Ensure that all fundraising activities involving patients are compliant with HIPAA regulations.
Complete annual performance self-assessment as part of the Annual Review.
Complete other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Five years of increasingly responsible experience in institutional advancement.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
