California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites applications for the open rank faculty position of Program Director for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and demonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith. This is a 12-month faculty position with administrative responsibilities and a starting date of July 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will assume leadership of a new program as a member of the team within the Department of Allied Health Professions and the CBU College of Health Science. Terminal degree preferred but candidates with a plan for terminal degree completion will be considered; must hold current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registration and be licensed in the state of California; the successful candidate must have a minimum of two years of successful clinical experience as well as documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and educational theories and techniques; educational experience may be prior college level teaching and administration combined with previous educational and professional development. The successful candidate will teach a contracted load of units spread over a 12-month contract as directed by the Chair of Allied Health Professions and will have some reassigned time for administrative duties. Contemporary, interactive teaching that embraces the integration of Christian faith is expected and supported; additional expectations include an active level of discipline-specific scholarship and demonstrated service to the university, church, and profession.
