Business Intelligence Engineer, OTS-Service Desk
Operations Technology Solutions (OTS) data team is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. The BI Engineer is expected to drive the analytics front of our key business projects, come up with insights on key metrics, engage with stakeholders to earn trust and merge data intelligence efforts centrally and globally. The resource would be heavily engaged for a new data management platform wherein he/she would be working on complete packaging and product design of data as products. The resource would be working on metrics delivery for the business yet heavily involved in visualizing and designing the end solution on amazon internal tools or third party platforms to meet the LT goal of ODI marketplace. Leveraging their knowledge of product & system design and cloud services they would help in creating and deploying end to end solution. This resource would also be working on Total Cost of Ownership and Strategic Transformation Projects with the business. The key responsibilities areas would include metrics definition, logic creation, pipeline deployment, visualizations and stakeholder management. He/she would engage closely with the business partners to solicit ideas, identify pain points and define business KPIs that would help the leadership and executive teams to monitor and regulate the services better. The right candidate will be working with large datasets, data visualization, automation and will enable bringing data forward to answer complex business questions that deepen our understanding of our business drivers.Key job responsibilities
Design, development and ongoing operations of scalable, performant data warehouse (Redshift) tables, data pipelines, reports and dashboards.Development of moderately to highly complex data processing jobs using appropriate technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.)Development of dashboards and reports.Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business domains, requirements, and expectations. Additionally, working with owners of data source systems to understand capabilities and limitations.Deliver minimally to moderately complex data analysis;Actively manage the timeline and deliverables of projects, anticipate risks and resolve issues.Adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation.Have understanding of AI/ML and other industry solutions in this space to know when to apply what to solve business problems.Have proven track record of launching new products, solutions and managing projects end to end.Excellence verbal and written communication skills.Comfortable wearing multiple hats and go over and above to drive results.Basic qualifications
3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experienceExperience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar toolsExperience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelinesExperience writing complex SQL queriesExperience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and MatlabExperience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modelingPreferred qualifications
