who are passionate about Chaos Testing highly resilient applications across our Tech environment!Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech)
comprises many of Capital One’s most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices.What You’ll Do:As a Chaos Engineer, you will lead the planning, design, execution, and reporting of Chaos testing.Review architecture to identify potential resilience vulnerabilities. Use analysis to define a Chaos strategy that exposes these vulnerabilities proactively.Create automation that allows us to scale our Chaos strategy across Tech.Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code.Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s DegreeAt least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)Preferred Qualifications:A Master’s Degree9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service4+ years of experience in open source frameworks4+ years of experience in Chaos and Reliability testing within complex production environments1+ years of people management experience2+ years of experience in Agile practices4+ years experience with Chaos engineering tools in Harness or Gremlin4+ years experience with testing tools in Performance or Fault Injection4+ years experience with Observability tooling in Splunk or New RelicCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.Capital One offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being.
