Position Summary
The Account Manager works with a degree of independence, managing the creative delivery and project management needs across brands and businesses. The Account Manager (AM) is the main point of contact with internal business partners to gather project requirements and implement execution strategies to meet the business objectives. As a business partner, the AM reviews the business strategy, objectives and facilitates the initiation of the creative process. Serving as the manager within the Account team, this role ensures client satisfaction, the cross-functional process management within B&D and oversees the creative execution of projects from concept through completion. Working with the brand leaders, ensures the creative solution meets the partner’s strategy, schedule and budget expectations while ensuring brand and legal standards have been met are critical responsibilities of this position.
Expected Contributions
Supports MVW wide Sales and Marketing, and will liaise with Owner Services, Legal and external M&S partners.
Support and work closely with Marketing and Sales teams in North America and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.
Work closely with teams on the creation of marketing/sales materials and communications in English and Japanese.
Ability to read/write/speak/translate Japanese work with Global Brand Strategy & Creative Delivery to create owner testimonial videos and arrange all necessary items in Japanese including communicate with owners and attend during filming.
Work with external vendors in North America and Asia including, but not limited to, translators, photographers, digital marketing agencies, direct mail houses, etc.
Work with external Marketing and Sales partner vendors (e.g. Bonvoy, Airlines, etc.) in North America and Asia to create content and coordinate direct mail and/or email campaigns.
Work with sales Center technology Department to add all new necessary translations in Japanese upon updated English version.
Work with Owner Communication Department to create and update all owner communication in Japanese including how to use guide, after the purchase, welcome email and all letters sent to owners.
Work with Training and Development department to create all Sales and Marketing materials in Japanese.
Manages work processes and/or projects, setting priorities and measurable objectives, monitoring, and reporting on the process, progress, and results.
Responds to business requests that have broader department impact and/or moderate risk. Presents alternative solutions to programs by leveraging the broader organization’s input.
Works to enhance the organization’s capabilities through the development of others by:
using appropriate MVW interviewing tools to hire the best team members from inside or outside.
setting and maintaining high standards for team and individual performance.
providing timely coaching and feedback.
Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:

Communicates with senior leadership on high profile project timelines and status.
Identifies requests that require higher level brand input.
Adheres to client service level agreements in concert with the business and tracks results.
Directly manages and delivers on customer communications needs on time and on budget.
Implements communications execution strategies through the standard department processes.
Builds strong relationships across functional teams built on respect and trust.
Has solid knowledge of businesses, products and brands.
Manages project schedule templates in workflow system.
Follows dept processes including acquiring marketing briefs, creative briefs, creating conference reports, change order management, securing appropriate signature approvals and delivery confirmation.
Assists in developing efficient project status reports.
Follows review processes to ensure quality, consistency, brand standards and legal compliance.
Uses tools that capture, evaluate and utilize customer feedback.
Works collaboratively across teams to exceed customer expectations.
Participates in creative team presentations to internal customers.
Participates in and contributes to overall communications planning process.
Communicates established business strategies to the creative team.
Recognizes creative executions that may not align with brand requirements.
Works with brand partners to gather and share program results.
Takes ownership of client programs and proactively organizes/coordinates efforts between components.
Identifies/resolves issues in advance and knows when to elevate.
Identifies cost-saving measures throughout program development and execution (i.e. determining most appropriate or necessary players to attend meetings, identifying the most efficient way to get work out the door, etc.).
Partners with the business leaders to develop execution strategies.
Keeps creative team, management and client up to speed on program progress.
Motivates team to exceed expectations.
Performs other duties as appropriate.
Must be able to translate from Japanese to English.
Based in Oahu but office in Waikiki.
Candidate Profile
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years advertising agency account management, in-house communications, project management or equivalent experience required.
Process development and management experience a plus.
Must be fluent in English and must be a native Japanese speaker.
Must be able to read/write/speak/translate Japanese.
Experienced in creating materials in all mediums including print, video and digital.
Marketing or sales experience a plus.
Skills and Attributes:
Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
Flexible schedule.
Ability to understand business strategy to build a project and action plan.
