Director, Public Relations and Social MediaReports to:
Susan Rodgers, Chief Marketing Officer
The Director of Public Relations and Social Media will lead all consumer-facing public relations and organic social media strategies, and will lead a team that is focused on building customer love of our brand through social media, public goodwill and philanthropic relationships, and editorial communications. This person will evaluate and authorize all forms of communication regarding the organization for release to the consumer-facing public.
This role will be the driving force of holistic brand PR and digital-first influencer and product seeding strategy, integrating communications tactics across all consumer touchpoints. As part of the growing team that propels brand energy and reputation management, home décor and furnishings leadership, and cultural inspiration, you will empower a group of individual contributors to continue to position At Home as a brand that affordably enables everyone to make their house a home.
With the goal to facilitate key strategic business objectives, concepts and initiatives, your expertise will engage with an evolving network of influential audiences with the sole mission of creating consumer-facing PR and social content that inspires brand love with objective measurement and KPIs.
Leads all strategy for social media content development and follower-growth management, laser-focused on content that drives engagement, brand love, and business outcomes through social engagement.
Lead the development and execution of integrated PR, influencer marketing, and product seeding tactics to support our brand purpose and product stories to drive brand affinity, fuel consumer demand, and strengthen our connection with consumers.
Collaborates with paid media team on social boosting schedules and budgets, always keeping product engagement top-of-mind.
Create multi-channel PR and influencer strategies for seasonal and always-on campaigns by engineering dynamic consumer journey tactics and leveraging media opportunities that generate relevant and brand-right content across consumer press, social, experiential, product innovation and philanthropic programming.
Achieve cumulative brand metrics and earned media value by employing consumer insights, research and data that informs brand communications strategy and leads to demand for At Home in a fast-paced, evolving public relations and social media landscape. Deliver actionable key metrics, reporting and KPIs to optimize consumer engagement and increase impressions year-round.
Specializes and manages brand reputation management tools, both for listening and response. Develops playbook for reputation management and works to grow customer love of the At Home brand through reputation management and response.
Develops, maintains, and guides all philanthropic partnerships on both strategy and execution of Giving campaigns and develops plan for gaining “credit” for At Home for the work we do with outside philanthropic partners.
Work closely with Executive leadership on continued development of business and consumer-facing social media platform strategies.
Develops press releases, white papers, and supporting materials regarding strategic launches for At Home.
Curate stories with Editors dedicated to customer-relevant messaging across categories and themes of both our seasonal and everyday product offerings.
Monitor social media trends alongside agency, including developments in design, applications, strategy and innovation to stay relevant and effective. Strategically build an effective social media content strategy to engage the audience, increase traffic and boost conversions.
Manages a team of individual contributors and agencies dedicated to social media and public relations content. Leads and briefs creative team focused on social media content development.
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree
8+ years of consumer-facing public relations experience
5+ years of strategic social media experience across a variety of channels
5+ years experience managing direct reports
Retail industry experience preferred
Experience with Sprinklr or other social listening tools required
Strong project management and communication skills; detail oriented with a high degree of organization and accuracy
Proven ability to direct and manage agency partnerships
Self-starter, with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of marketing and communications platforms, technologies and tools, including brand reputation management and social listening tools.
