DescriptionThis position provides an excellent opportunity to build an exciting career in a leading global financial services firm and to play a key part in managing legal risks for in an evolving and dynamic area of the law and business.As a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel within the Home Lending/Commercial Term Lending Litigation team, you will independently and collaboratively work with external legal representatives to defend the Firm in various litigation cases. Your role will also involve providing counsel on a wide array of matters and issues related to Chase's residential and commercial mortgage lending operations. You will independently liaise with and support the Firm's senior management. Utilizing your litigation skills and sound legal judgment, you will apply your comprehensive knowledge of litigation matters to make informed decisions that yield positive outcomes for our customers and business partners. If these values resonate with you, we would like to hear from you.Job responsibilitiesManaging actual and potential litigation mattersAdvising on litigation issues that impact various business functions, including loan origination, servicing and foreclosureManaging dispute resolutionInterpreting existing laws, rules, and regulations and advising on changes theretoAdvising on advocacy in connection with contemplated and proposed laws, rules, and regulationsProviding legal advice to the business and functionsSelecting, engaging, and managing outside counsel for the Firm on all matters in which outside counsel is engagedRequired qualifications, capabilities and skillsAt least 5 years of post-admission legal practicing experienceJuris doctorate degree. All candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employmentKnowledge of, and experience with, complex litigation mattersAbility to assume significant independent responsibility immediatelyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to think strategically, write well and communicate effectively with both legal and non-legal professionals, including senior executives of the FirmAbility to build and maintain good client and colleague relationshipsPreferred qualifications, capabilities and skillsExtensive litigation experience, with prior experience in financial services or Home Lending or Commercial Term Lending litigation being a plusAbility to manage a large volume of cases and balance competing prioritiesAll candidates for roles in the Legal department must be licensed to practice law in the country of employment and successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
