Designer
What could be more exciting than putting your mark on some of the world’s most famous and well-loved fashion brands? As a designer for Centric Brands, you’ll use your skills and creativity to create designs based on style plans, sales needs and emerging trends. You will also ensure that your work can be transformed into a finished product in a timely manner and at an appropriate price point. This means working not only with our technical design and production teams, but also building collaborative relationships with outside vendors and other external stakeholders.
Specific Responsibilities Would IncludeThe Associate Designer supports the Lead Designer in all stages of the seasonal design development process, from concept to tech pack development; fittings to delivery. The Associate Designer supports in creating and executing original, trend-appropriate design concepts that meet business and market needs and drive sales - ensuring the timely execution of each stage in the process.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Innovation
Research and identify brand right trends and seasonal concepts; perform competitive market analysis; source and review fabrics, create and maintain development decks and CADS for presentations and meetings.
Execute development of initial seasonal design category in context of larger assortment and cost structure.
Operations & Results
Design according to sku plans, sales needs and emerging trends; ensure timely and accurate execution of product development calendar.
Create hand and Illustrator sketches; create and maintain development line sheets; ownership of TP development and maintenance in PLM system and shared drive, support in sample management, record and support lead designer in all fittings.
Maintain seasonal fabric/trim development library.
Review and approve lab dips, print strike offs, and bulk approvals with Lead Designer and ensure consistency with color and bulk standards.
Cross-functional Relationships
Coordinate follow-up with internal and external teammates, including merchandising, technical design, sales, production, and vendors; manage interoffice communication.
Collaborate and work closely on a regular basis with cross-functional partners.
Leadership & Teams
Contribute positively to team dynamic through clear verbal and written communication.
Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
Ability to foster an inclusive and respectful work environment.
Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have
2-3 years experience in the Apparel Industry.
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design.
Experience and knowledge of development across multiple RTW categories/fabrications: woven’s, cut and sew, FF knits, outerwear, leather, etc.
Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team player.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative.
Strong and accurate technical CAD and hand sketching skills.
Excellent knowledge of elevated garment construction, finishing techniques and technical fit.
Ability to pivot, multitask and stay organized while managing multiple seasons of development at once.
Capability and sensibility for merchandising, strong understanding of seasonal development process with PD, TD and Production.
Highly proficient in PLM, Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Suites.
