Underpinning our mission is the AMD culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges. We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives.

AMD together we advance.

Responsibilities:THE ROLE:

As part of the AMD EPYC Server team, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation to build cutting-edge server products that drive the next evolution in the datacenter. Our server platform team is looking for system engineering leaders who are passionate about server technology and eager to contribute to our mission of delivering the best EPYC server products with unparalleled performance, quality and reliability. The role demands technical expertise in silicon validation, spanning the areas of silicon design, architecture, validation, FW and SW development, platform debug and performance. Join us as together we advance data center computing.

THE PERSON:

As an EPYC Server Lead System Engineer, you are the technical lead responsible for driving program execution and key Post-Si engineering initiatives to meet the product requirements of our EPYC Server CPUs. You will collaborate with a global, cross-functional team spread across hardware (CPU, memory, IO, systems), software (Firmware, BIOS, OS), architecture, and validation. As the program lead you will define the validation strategy, feature enablement plans, manage technical constraints, prioritize resources, and oversee test plan execution to ensure timely, high-quality silicon delivery. Strong communication skills at both technical and executive levels are essential. Be part of shaping the future of the data center through EPYC engineering excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Defines program plans to meet the product requirements within schedule, budget and scope.

Manages platform execution and reports on program deliverables and risks.

Develops detailed validation strategy based on program complexity and feature set.

Oversees end to end feature development process driving alignment with Architecture, FW/SW development, Validation and Customer Engineering teams.

Drives Post-Si test plan development and execution to meet delivery of sample commitments and engineering collateral.

Defines supported platform configurations, associated FW collateral, fuse recipes and debug tools to enable validation execution.

Oversees defect prioritization to identify high impact issues, implement mitigation plans, and drive root cause analysis and resolution.

Manages technical constraints and prioritization of program assets.

Provides leadership, mentorship, and guidance to validation team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and workflows simultaneously.

Strong analytical skills: capable of structuring complex analysis, extracting key insights, drawing actionable conclusions, and effectively communicating recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Matrix leadership: able to network, build relationships, and collaborate across functions to drive informed decision-making and alignment with key stakeholders.

Technical leadership: capable of championing new tools, methods, and capabilities to drive platform validation improvements in schedule, quality, or coverage.

Executive communication: proficient in both written and verbal communication, able to provide concise summary of program progress, risks, or status of critical issues.

Experience with HW/SW based test tools, defect tracking and version control systems.

Experience with Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features.

Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems, Hypervisors (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, etc.), and development and certification processes of these environments.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant field.

Master’s Degree (MS) preferred.
