HDR is looking for a Senior Designer to join our Water Business Group team in either Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have a technical interest in water and wastewater treatment, pump stations and pipelines or water resources and stormwater. The Senior Designer will be responsible for assisting with projects through planning, design, and construction phases. Project types could include water and wastewater treatment facilities, gravity sanitary sewers and force mains, water distribution and transmission pipelines, water and wastewater pump stations and related infrastructure projects. They will support professional engineers and technical staff. They may have periodic contact with clients regarding ongoing projects and tasks. This position may require occasional field visits for construction observation.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related fieldA minimum of 20 years of water/wastewater/water resources project experience, focus on water/wastewater treatment, pump stations and pipelines, or water resources/stormwater is preferredExperience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit and ESRI ArcGIS preferredMust thrive working in a team environmentLocal candidates are preferred
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experienceA minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supportedAptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supportedExtensive knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supportedProven ability to work in multi-disciplinary environmentsProficient with Microsoft OfficeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
