- Coll Of Educ, Health, & Human Sci - 240000026NMarket range 11Office of Research and OperationsCollege of Education, Health, and Human SciencesTickle College of EngineeringThe University of Tennessee, KnoxvillePosition Description:The Colleges of Education Health & Human Sciences and Tickle Engineering are collaborating to split a senior director for space and facilities between them. The position would report to CEHHS Executive Associate Dean, with co-supervision by the TCE Associate Dean for Research & Facilities. Collectively, the two colleges are distributed in 27 buildings supporting directly 25% of undergraduate majors, 32% of graduate majors, 20% of full-time faculty, and over 50% of the funded research for the campus. This position plays an important role in representing the interests of the two colleges related to these buildings, including space allocations, optimization of space usage, requests for new space, and managing the college portion of the annual space inventory. Responsibilities also include site inspections, cost-estimates and budget expenditures for renovations and repairs of offices, laboratories or studios, and acting as a liaison for the two colleges with Facilities Services, UT Space Committee, UT System Capital Projects, contractors and architects. The position will work with campus and UT System on developing Capital Projects Outlay proposals for major renovations and new buildings for the two colleges, as well as other assigned duties.The market range for this position is MR11. The hiring range for this position is $87,021-$97,898 depending on qualifications and experience.The university offers a highly competitive benefits package that includes health insurance and retirement plans through the State of Tennessee, generous annual and sick leave accruals, longevity pay, tuition waivers and discounts, discounted athletics tickets, and more.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Architecture, Technical Design, Building/Construction Management, or related fields)2 years of experience in one or more aspects of space management, building maintenance, renovation or construction management, or project budgeting.Ability to understand building/room types and uses, space management procedures, and priorities in higher education possibly based on experience in other settings.Ability to work effectively with faculty, departmental administrators, and college leadership.Ability to work effectively with personnel and leadership in the facilities and operations units for the University possibly based on experience in other settings.Ability to advise, report and/or manage renovation and construction timetables and budgets.Ability to resolve renovation/repair/construction conflicts across process stakeholders.Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to multi-task effectively.Ability to be detail oriented.Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree (Engineering, Architecture, Technical Design, Building/Construction Management, or related fields)Greater than five years’ experience in one or more aspects of space management, building maintenance, renovation or construction management, or project budgeting.At least two years of this experience at a higher education institution.Experience with strategic planning related to space and facilities problems, including experience in a leadership role.Experience dealing with university or college administrators.Schedule:
