WTVF, the E.W. Scripps CBS affiliate in Nashville, has a rare opportunity on our NewsChannel 5+ team. We're looking for someone who will produce and direct programs connected to community activities, news and events in Middle Tennessee. Shows include: OpenLine, Inside Politics, Issues of Faith, and more.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Direct NewsChannel 5+ live and taped programs
Run audio, video, graphics and studio cameras
Prepare graphics as needed
Maintain all social media accounts and platforms
Prepare the studio for a show (includes moving sets, setting up studio lights, microphones, cameras, etc.)
Time live and recorded programs
Answer telephone and screen callers for live shows
Distribute content to web, streaming, podcasts & other platforms
Edit video
Book and greet guests of NewsChannel 5+ programs
Generate NewsChannel 5+ program topics
Coordinate with account executives to produce paid segments and programs
Assist NewsChannel 5+ management in planning future events
Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Minimum of one (1) year experience in television production
Familiarity with control room equipment, studio cameras, videotape photography, editing, and graphics
Strong writing skills with knowledge of proper grammar and spelling
Strong organizational and communication skills
Solid understanding of, and interest in, current issues and events
Experience with computer office systems and office software programs
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Willingness to work in a team-based environment
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Knowledge of community events
Excellent interpersonal communicator
Highly organized
Proficient with newsroom computer systems, MS Office a plus
Flexible work hours may be required, including holidays, weekends and evenings
Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
