Job Description

The Opportunity:

Hot Wheels is hiring an Associate Marketing Manager (AMM) to work on the Global Brand Team (GBT), managing a segment of Hot Wheels, makers of the #1 selling toy in the world! The Global Brand Team is responsible for the global brand strategy as well as development of the global product line and marketing assets. The larger Hot Wheels team is broken out into several smaller teams by product segment. The AMM role will work alongside the segment’s Manager on the product side of the business, primarily focused on product development, business strategy & marketing asset creation.

An iconic brand for over 50 years, Hot Wheels partners with everyone from world class auto manufacturers, to the top entertainment franchises, to global gaming powerhouses, to the hottest car culture icons. Hot Wheels die-cast cars are sold in over 100 countries, with over 10 million cars produced a week. Oh, and our fans post #HotWheels every 30 seconds!

What Your Impact Will Be:

Ensure all product marketing projects are supported by business strategy, objectives, and insights.

Assist in gaining buy-in to global product strategies at all levels, as well as executional commitment from internal partners to activate across key markets and key lines of business.

Work closely with the Product Design, Packaging, Development teams to bring innovative and compelling toys to market on time and on budget backed by Consumer Insights.

Create unique retailer exclusive products and campaigns.

Communicate regularly with regional teams and lines of business to ensure needs are being met.

Brief and develop marketing assets.

Monitor key trends, brands and competitors’ performance in all markets.

Lead global business reporting, analysis and gathering insights.

Work with other Mattel Global Brand teams to share plans and ‘best practices’.

Act as point of contact for brand inquiries and dissemination of brand information and assets.

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For:

5+ years (2 years with MBA) experience in marketing, preferably in product development.

Experience with company/product/marketing that is rooted in consumer trends.

Experience analyzing data and managing financials.

Ability to synthesize data and pull insights to create recommendations.

Strong skills presenting in front of large groups.

Highly organized, independent and detail oriented with strong follow up skills.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid collaborative relationships.

Strong time management, planning and project execution skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Thorough understanding of marketing mix and KPIs.

Experience with ecommerce and direct selling.

Strong PowerPoint creation and presentation skills, proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel.

Automotive Industry a big plus.

Capability to influence and be comfortable working in a demanding, challenging, and dynamic environment with a knack for embracing ambiguity and change, while focusing on solutions and best paths forward.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $115,000 and $125,000.**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
