We are interested in candidates with a background in construction, structural engineering, architecture, or mechanical engineering or design that have a strong expertise in BIM software.BIM EngineerPosition Summary

The BIM Engineer is responsible for creating and coordinating BIM content for multiple disciplines in various software platforms. The BIM Engineer implements and uses technical software processes to support construction teams from preconstruction through project closeout.

Essential Job Functions

Read, interpret, and understand architectural, structural, and MEP design drawingsBuild accurate, detailed, and data-rich Revit models to a fabrication level of detail for various scopes of workDevelop Revit skillset necessary to function at a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and productivityUnderstand construction operations and techniques (means and methods) used in the fieldCoordinate drawings and models from various trades and disciplines and use BIM to identify, coordinate, and resolve construction conflictsCreate drawings from fabrication level models that increase field productivityUse BIM to help general contractors to solve project-specific constructability issuesCreate 4D construction sequencing simulationsSupport general contractor project pursuits with creative use of BIM models and animations within TwinMotion, SketchUp, drone photogrammetry, and virtual realitySupport preconstruction departments by using BIM for site logistics and model-based quantity take-offsUse Navisworks to lead the BIM coordination process between the MEFP trades and the design modelsCreate shop drawings in Revit for trades such as cast-in place concrete, precast concrete, and mechanical and plumbing systemsUtilize point clouds from 3D laser scans and drone photogrammetry to document and coordinate as-built conditionsContribute to the implementation of new BIM processes and services for general contractors and trade contractorsHelp train construction team members in the use of BIMCommunicate effectively with team members with a positive and solution-oriented mannerSuccessfully perform tasks and deliver projects within deadlines and budgetsContribute to the fast-paced evolution of our BIM services and processesTravel to jobsites, meetings and client locations as needed in support of employees, clients, project team, etc.Embrace a lean culture and work environmentUses safety equipment as prescribed by company to ensure safety on jobsiteAs a safety sensitive position, complete adherence to alcohol and drug use policies set by companyIn-person, predictable attendance at assigned location

Skills

Ability to creatively identify and solve construction problems using BIM/VDC processes and techniquesUnderstanding of construction documents and drawingsUnderstanding of basic construction means and methodsStrong verbal and written communication skills, and client service approachStrong organizational and multitasking skillsResourcefulness, self-starting work habits, and creativity in problem solvingAttention to detailBeginner or intermediate knowledge of and experience in Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM softwareStrong software and general computer knowledge, and an ability to quickly learn new softwareAbility to adapt to evolving BIM software, technology, processes, and services

Experience & Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or extensive experience in engineering, construction management or related fieldMinimum of 0-5 years of experience in the AEC industry

The salary range for this position is

$65,000 - $83,000 annually
