$115,905-144,881 plus annual target bonusIf you enjoy our products, you’ll really enjoy being a part of our team!Position Summary:The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager leads and manages employee health, safety, and environmental activities and collaborates with management and other functions within the company. This position partners with facility management to build capability and provide EHS subject matter expertise for manufacturing and/or distribution facilities. The EHS Manager supports facility wastewater operations, hazardous materials, and other compliance program tracking as needed.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:Implement programs to reduce workplace injuries and collisions and ensure continued compliance with regulatory and internal policiesImplement, evaluate and/or certify effectiveness of company EHS programs and systems through inspections and auditsProvide subject matter expert (SME) guidance and leadership to assist company compliance with EHS related rules and regulationsIdentify improvement opportunities, capture, deploy and share best practicesImplement and manage ergonomic, asbestos, ammonia, wastewater, storm water and other compliance programsWork with Facility and Fleet teams to ensure Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) Operational ComplianceConduct risk assessment by identifying and assessing potential magnitude of risk (i.e., environmental, safety, regulatory, production feasibility and quality) and create contingency plansAssist with facility gap assessments and development of corrective action plansParticipate in Worker’s Compensation Claims reviews as neededGather and analyze EHS data, develop goals and targets, manage scorecards, databases, and dashboards for EHS related programs and metricsCollaborate with Legal Department concerning permit applications, compliance queries and responses to OSHA, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other regulatory agenciesPrepare for emergency situations, including assistance of injured workers, by establishing emergency response teamDevelop and deploy EHS awareness and compliance training programs to all levels of employees as neededServe as member of the facility’s crisis management team, during times of serious incidents, by directing efforts when requested, offering recommendations, interpreting regulations, and coordinating communication with government regulators or agenciesOther projects or duties as assignedRequired Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Risk Management, Environmental or other related field with 6 plus years of experience in safety, risk management and/or environmental or High School Diploma with 9 plus years of experience in safety, risk management and/or environmentalExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiencesKnowledge of local, state or federal environmental, health and safety regulations including how to access and evaluate resourcesAbility to work independently and collaborativelyProficient in Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Travel up to 50%This position must pass a post-offer background and drug testPreferred Skills and Experience:Food and beverage industry experiencePeople leadership experienceKnowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologiesProgress towards one or more industry certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other certifications from the Board of Certified Safety Professional (BSCP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH)Knowledge of procedures used to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazardSafety and Environmental Management System, i.e., ISO 18001 and 14001 experiencePhysical Demands and Work Environment:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
