Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2025 Environmental Safety & Health Engineering Intern. In this role, you will drive new uses of state-of-the-art technology to revolutionize how our employees' health and safety is maintained, our operations meet or exceed regulatory compliance, and our sustainability goals are developed and achieved. The selected candidate will work closely with site Environmental, Safety and Health Engineering teams to perform duties such as:Identify hazardous workplace conditions and take preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances.Remove hazards to protect employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.Take effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions.Ensure that all required records are prepared and maintained.Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.Investigate, prepare, and forward as required reports on injuries and fatalities.Participate in Ergonomics initiatives.The successful candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills with a customer-focused approach. The primary focus of this position is to provide technical Safety and Health support to the Operations team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a challenging business environment and gain experience working for a large company. Must be a US Citizen.Basic Qualifications:Pursuing a Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemical, Safety, Mechanical, Environmental, Industrial Engineering, Physical Sciences or related discipline from an accredited college.Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial processes through coursework.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Must be a US Citizen.Desired Skills:Familiarity with lean principles.Good communication skills.Able to work in a team environment.Clearance Level:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $20,904 - $61,672. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
