Req #32333Friday, October 4, 2024Location: National Capital Area Command - Turning Point CenterPosition Type: Regular Part-TimePay Range: $18.00 - $18.00/hourAbout this opportunity:This position is responsible for operating the Salvation Army Grate Patrol program vehicle to transport meals, serve meals, transport volunteers, and occasionally distribute supplies to individuals who are homeless and living on the streets of Washington, DC. This position is part-time only, and the hours are from 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM typically working 7 days on and 7 days off shifts.Key responsibilities:Provides evening transportation and serving of meals and/or transportation of volunteers to 5-6 stops in the downtown DC area to provide meals to individuals who are homelessHandle and serve food in a safe and sanitary mannerSupport efforts of Grate Patrol Case Manager I to identify individuals in need of immediate assistance and/or in immediate crisisWhat we are looking for in you:High School Diploma or G.E.D.ANDTwo years’ experience operating an automotive vehicle,ORAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Valid Driver’s License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
