Applied Materials’ Finance Department is recruiting for MBA students to fill full time job roles in our Santa Clara, CA offices. New hires will work within our Global Financial Planning and Analysis Finance team, which provides financial analytics and investment decision support for Applied Materials’ businesses, forward looking products and strategic engagements.Applied Materials, Inc. is the global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world. At Applied Materials, our innovations make possible the technology shaping the future.Job Description:This role under the Corporate Planning Organization will support driving FP&A activities for the major product segments at Applied Materials. This position will involve analyzing and developing content for Applied Materials CFO and Segment CFOs, product groups, investor relations and treasury, and presenting that content in an effective way. The position requires a high level of diligence as the majority of the reporting and presentations will be serving the executive management of the company.This role involves a focus on spend, productivity metrics, and efficiency Key Product Indicators across the company, helping to summarize the data related to market trends and drivers, competitors, business unit financials in a meaningful way. This person will proactively work with key business partners across the company to develop actionable reports and analyses. The ideal candidate needs to be comfortable working on strategic initiatives, as well as the details of business analytics along with deliverables related to financial reporting cadence.Primary Responsibilities:Perform spend analytics in a way that considers business decisions and actionable insights.Perform regular predictive financial modeling, monitoring outcomes, and rapid revision.Interpret financial results into insights and recommendations for presentation to executives.Manage and update content as needed for investor relations events and board meetings.Provide financial modeling, analysis, and valuation support for acquisitions and projects.Identify and implement reporting of key financial metrics that enable meaningful insights and improve the visibility to company’s financial results.Partner with Information Technology professionals to enable implementation of reporting systems and processes across Finance.Act as a finance business partner and subject matter expert across the business.Requirements:MBA degree, with 3-5 years prior work experience in Finance or Accounting preferred.Strong communication and influence skills, with attention to detail and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including data visualization and Excel.Intellectual curiosity to learn the business, improve processes and strive for excellence.Ability to work with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, global environment.Education:
